AI, Medicine, Education and the Physician of Tomorrow  -An Evening with USF Morsani College of Medicine's Vice Dean Bryan Bognar, MD, MPH, FACP

Explore the intersection of generative AI, medical education, research, and clinical care with the top medical school in the country.

AI, Medicine, Education and the Physician of Tomorrow

Artificial intelligence is transforming medicine on two fronts simultaneously: how physicians are trained, and how physicians practice. Most institutions are grappling with one side of that equation. USF Morsani College of Medicine is grappling with both — and Dr. Bryan Bognar, Vice Dean for Education, sits at the center of it. Join us for an evening exploring how generative AI is reshaping medical education, research, and clinical care, and what it means that USF finds itself at the leading edge of both.

What happens when an AI chatbot represents itself as your physician? Will the next generation of doctors train alongside tools so powerful that they may never develop the diagnostic instincts that their predecessors spent years honing? These are not fictional scenarios. These aren't hypotheticals — one is a question about patient care, the other about the training that shapes it, and both are playing out right now in hospitals and medical schools across the country, USF included.

Dr. Bognar will explore what generative AI means for how doctors are trained, how medical research is conducted, and how clinical care is being reshaped at unprecedented speed — and why USF's dual position, educating the next generation of physicians while delivering care today, gives it a unique vantage point on both. He'll walk through the legal grey zones, the ethical fault lines, and the extraordinary opportunities, and invite the audience into a conversation about what kind of medicine we actually want AI to help us build.

The evening will feature networking with fellow members, hors d'oeuvres, and a lively presentation and discussion with Dr. Bognar.
