From the President...

Dear Harvard Alum,
Happy New Year!

I write to introduce myself as the new President of the Harvard Club of the West Coast of Florida.  I am originally from Brooklyn, graduated from Harvard Law School in 2008, and after working for New York law firms and for a Tampa federal judge, I started my own litigation practice here several years ago.  I live in Lithia with my wife and son.
Since moving to Florida, I've been active in the club and have enjoyed our fascinating speakers, fun social events, exciting sports competitions, and several interesting art and cultural events.  Most importantly, I've met many good friends and I hope to meet and collaborate with more of you as president of the club.
We kick the year off with our Holiday party in January, which is one of the best-attended events of the year.  If you have not signed up yet, please do so through our website.
Our club has been fortunate to have outstanding leadership guiding it, and we want you to be part of it.
We have many exciting events already in the works, so please check the club's website regularly for updates.  I am speaking to some foreign policy experts who may speak to the club this Spring about the challenges faced by the new administration.  If you have any suggestions for speakers in other areas (particularly business or science), or for social or performance events, please let me know.
I look forward to seeing many familiar faces, and hopefully some new members as well, at our annual holiday party next week!
Sincerely,
Mike Beltran, HLS '08
